Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, these ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.

All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, until they take root in our personal experience.

One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.

What is required now is complete mutual understanding, not just tolerance and patience. In the future, complete understanding is necessary.
